GEHL DL SERIES DYNALIFT

Gehl recently announced the availability of the new Model DL-12, a 12,000-pound rated unit available with a 40-foot boom. It offers considerable capacity and can lift 10,000 pounds up to 40 feet high. Its tight 12-foot-2-inch turning radius and height of less than eight feet allows for control in tight confines. The DL Series Dynalift is designed to set standards in maneuverability, stability, versatility and serviceability.

EAGLE CRUSHER STEALTH 2

The portable Stealth 2 UltraMax 05 crushing system by Eagle Crusher Co. Inc. can process two cubical products simultaneously. An Eagle stacker and a double-deck screen can combine to process 150 tons per hour while maintaining the compact integrity and mobility of the plant. The Stealth 2 features a 33-inch by 32-inch feed opening that can handle reinforced concrete, C&D debris, rubble, asphalt, limestone and sand and gravel. The addition of the 5-feet by 10-feet two-deck sizing screen makes the Stealth 2 more versatile. The unit has a travel height of 13 feet, six inches, meaning it can be towed over most highways without the need for special permits or notification.

METALLISCANNER METAL LOCATOR

The MetalliScanner 6.0 from Zircon Corp. can determine the depth and location of metal up to six inches beneath the surface of solid concrete and other surfaces. The device can be set to find either ferrous or nonferrous metal. Demolition contractors trying to estimate the amount of metal within a structure can use MetalliScanner to make a more accurate determination.

CHAMPION LIFT TRUCK BATTERIES

GNB Technologies has announced the development of a new line of Champion-brand batteries used to power narrow aisle lift trucks. The sealed, maintenance-free batteries have been designed to increase battery efficiency and capacity while also extending the run time of lift trucks. The batteries are available in several capacities and sizes, with capacities ranging from 480 to 900 amp-hours in both 24 and 36-volt configurations. The batteries can also be charged almost anywhere in a building, since there is virtually no gassing during the charging process.

LOADRITE WEIGHING SYSTEM

The Loadrite Model LR910 from Co-Op Industries Inc. is a computerized microprocessor-based weighing system for loaders and forklifts that gives an accuracy of plus or minus one percent. Designed to compensate for lift speed and machine bounce, the Loadrite Model LR910 allows “weighing on the move” with no increase in loading time.

CATERPILLAR SKID STEER LOADER LINE

Caterpillar Inc. has launched a new line of skid steer loaders and associated work tools. There are six models in the skid steer line, with operating capacities ranging from 1,350 pounds to 2,000 pounds. The company is touting their models as being easy to operate, with pilot-operated joystick controls. The standard engine is the Caterpillar 3034 direct injection four-cylinder diesel engine. All models feature a mechanical quick coupler designed for fast and easy attachment changes.

BEAR CHIP WRINGERS BROCHURE

Bear Equipment Co. has produced a brochure with information on its line of chip wringers. The Bear chip wringer line is ideal for use in job cells and small shops to clean scrap and recover expensive cutting fluids. Bear wringers are available in two-, five- and 16-gallon capacity models. Utilizing centrifugal force to spin dry oil-saturated chips, turnings and small parts, the machines have balanced chip pans that revolve at up to 1,200 rpm and can recover up to 98% of cutting fluids in less than two minutes in most applications.

PRAB STEEL BELT CONVEYOR BROCHURE

A new brochure from Prab Inc. details the improved features and benefits of its heavy-duty steel belt conveyors. The conveyors are designed for handling metal scrap or conveying parts and can also be used in chip processing systems and other applications. The belts are offered in 2-1/2, four, six and nine-inch pitches, with construction style options including Z-style, L-style and straight designs. Plain, perforated and dimpled belts are available.

CORTEC STICK-ON CORROSION INHIBITOR

The patented VCI-111 from Cortec Corp. is a cost-effective way to install corrosion prevention into electronic equipment. The VCI-111 emits a corrosion-fighting chemical that forms a micro-thin film on all metal surfaces. The device begins protecting sensitive components and contacts as soon as the cabinet is closed, and protection lasts up to two years. The VCI-111 is just 2-3/8 inches in diameter and 1-1/4 inches deep. Installation involves just adhering the device to the cabinet’s back wall.

BOBCAT 873 SKID STEER LOADER

Melroe Ingersoll-Rand has introduced an upgraded version of the Bobcat 873 skid steer loader that features a higher rated operating capacity of 2,400 pounds. Other upgrades include an extended wheelbase for smooth operation, larger axles for longer service life and a vertical lift path for easier truck loading.

Despite its lifting strength, the Bobcat 873 measures just 78 inches high, 72 inches wide and 141 inches long with a bucket attached, allowing it to operate in tight quarters. The machine is powered by a 73.5 horsepower, four-cylinder, turbo-charged Deutz diesel engine that provides four-wheel drive power and a travel speed of eight miles per hour.

SCRAP TIRE & RUBBER USERS DIRECTORY

The eighth edition of the Scrap Tire & Rubber Users Directory is now available from the Recycling Research Institute. The 1999 version includes statistical market data in a Market Price Survey section. Also included are listings for more than 2,000 companies that use scrap tire derived rubber or factory-generated scrap rubber in a variety of products and applications. The companieis are listed by product type. The book also presents information on size reduction, processing and material handling equipment used in the scrap tire and rubber recycling industry.

FUCHS MHL 360 SCRAP HANDLER

The new MHL 360 scrap handler from Fuchs features a lift capacity of 35,500 pounds at 19.7 feet. The machine can be configured to offer a total reach of either 54 or 59 feet, and rests on a footprint-sized 16 feet by 19 feet.

The rubber-tired machine also features an elevated cab that can reach an operator eye level of more than 20 feet and offers forward cab positioning of up to 6-1/2 feet. The model features Fuchs’ “quick-attach” hitch.

MARATHON STEALTH BALER

Marathon Equipment Co. introduced the Stealth Baler,  designed specifically to bale corrugated cardboard and is available for less than $20,000. The machine can bale from two to three tons per hour of cardboard through its 46-inch x 60-inch feed opening. The Stealth makes bales in excess of 1,600 pounds that can be tied through the door or the sides.

MITSUBISHI FORKLIFT BROCHURE

Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks has produced an eight-page brochure that details parts and service support available from Mitsubishi forklift truck dealers.

Among the areas covered in the brochure are the company’s Master Protection power train warranties, planned maintenance agreements, and fleet management services.

ECOCENT DROSS TREATMENT

The Austrian firm FOCON has developed a dross treatment technology known as Ecocent. The method involves treating the hot dross aquickly to avoid any exothermic losses and to avoid intermediate storage. After skimming, the dross is put into a centrifuge, where the aluminum and aluminum oxide are separated. Focon touts a 90% metal recovery rate from the process.

GENESIS DEMOPRO ATTACHMENT

Genesis Equipment & Manufacturing Inc. has introduced the DemoPro Concrete and Steel Processor. The hydraulic attachment is designed to efficiently cut and process concrete and steel encountered in demolition applications. It can downsize large pieces of concrete as well as rebar and structural steel.
