The Murray-Latta Group of Canada is now manufacturing Expon-Holzmag size reduction machines for the North American market. The single-shaft shredders will be available in sizes ranging from 30 horsepower to 400 horsepower. Expon-Holzmag offers a patented cutting technique designed specifically for the plastics industry. Carbon fibers, fiberglass and textiles are among the materials for which the machines are tailored.

HALTEC TIRE GAUGE

The PT Valve Tire Pressure Monitoring System from Haltec Corp. offers an easy-to-read dial gauge for heavy equipment air pressure testing. The all-anodized aluminum gauge stays attached to the valve while allowing the tire to be inflated and deflated. The PT valve and gauge is designed to let operators know if a heavy equipment tire is running below its ideal air pressure setting sooner, rather than waiting until it is visually noted, which can be too late to prevent permanent damage.

RAD-COMM GRAPPLE RADIATION DETECTOR

Rad-Comm Systems has introduced its wireless grapple/magnet radiation detection system. The large-volume detector installs directly into a grapple tine base frame. The wireless transmitter is designed to endure in rugged applications, and should not interfere with lifting and loading production. Rad-Comm claims the device can provide 25 times more detection capability than boom-mounted systems.

LANDERS GRAPPLES

Landers Maschienfabrik, a German grapple manufacturer represented in North America by Eurotech Corp., has introduced several specialty grapples designed for refuse plants and mixed waste processing facilities (MWPFs). The electro-hydraulic cactus grabs (an orange peel configuration) are designed for continuous use and “high operating efficiency,” according to Landers.

SCREEN MACHINE SCALPER

Ohio Central Steel Co. has introduced the Screen Machine Scalper, a dual screen processing plant. PRAB BRIQUETTING BROCHUREine.

A brochure detailing Prab Inc.’s new metal chip briquetting system has been published. The brochure is free for companies that generate metal chips and turnings from aluminum, steel, stainless steel, brass and cast iron. The Prab PaceSetter Briquetting System compresses chips under 40,000 pounds of pressure and extracts about 95% of the cutting fluids from the chips for reuse. The product features a traversing die assembly, which doubles the service life of individual dies and helps increase throughput. The Prab PaceSetter can compress up to 2,000 pounds of steel chips per hour, or 750 pounds of aluminum per hour. The finished briquettes are almost 70% solid metal, creating a product that can generally command a higher profit margin compared to loose chips.

MITSUBISHI CUSHION TIRE FORKLIFTS

Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks has introduced a new line of cushion tire forklifts ranging in size from 7,000 to 15,500 pounds.
