Waste Connections, Progressive Waste Solutions merger receives go-ahead under HSR
Waste Connections Inc., The Woodlands, Texas, and Progressive Waste Solutions Ltd., Toronto, have announced the early termination of the applicable waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) Antitrust Improvements Act in connection with their previously announced agreement to merge in an all-stock transaction.
The transaction remains subject to other customary closing conditions, including approval of both companies’ shareholders.
Waste Connections is an integrated solid waste services company serving more than 2 million residential, commercial, industrial, exploration and production customers from a network of operations in 32 states.
Progressive Waste Solutions provides solid waste collection, recycling and disposal services to commercial, industrial, municipal and residential customers in 14 U.S. states and the District of Columbia and six Canadian provinces.
