Every professional and trade association relies on dedicated volunteers to help create resources, communicate with current and potential members and manage projects. Some high achievers were recognized for their efforts at the recently concluded PRISM International Annual Conference in Miami, while some winners will receive their awards at the upcoming Joint European Conference in London or at the PRISM International Asia Pacific Region Conference next February in Manila, Philippines.
Several of the 2011 winners helped PRISM International achieve key strategic goals at meetings and events. Ryan Puliz, Puliz Records Management, was host of the 2010 Annual Conference in Reno, Nev., and provided tremendous support to the organization during that event. Philip Britton with Crown Worldwide is key to the continuing success of the Asia Pacific Region Conference and hosted the Hong Kong event. Stephen Eddowes, Delta Shelving Systems, also has played a key role in the Asia Pacific region by helping to market PRISM International meetings in the region and encouraging companies to join the organization. Chris Kelley of DataChambers has been a tireless advocate of the imaging and data protection workshops and hosted the 2010 Data Protection Workshop in Winston-Salem. Tom Gilsenan of Digiscan went to extraordinary lengths to support the U.K. Imaging Workshop.
In the area of regulatory activity, Tom Seibert, Esq., of Business Records Management provided considerable assistance during the 2010 HIPAA campaign staged by the industry. Natasha Rawley of Archive Document Data Storage expertly represents the industry before the DLM Forum and has provided critical reporting to our industry on MoReq standards. In the area of certification, Paul Butler of Iron Mountain has been central to the successful development of documentation and research for the PRISM Privacy + Certification program.
Dennis Barnedt of Oasis Group founded a philanthropic outreach group called PRISM Gives. This act, coupled with his personal efforts and financial support, has helped to raise more than $60,000 for global hunger relief. Barnedt also served on the board of directors and as president of PRISM International in 2009. Puliz, Britton and Rawley also served on the board and contributed significant efforts and advocacy.
Dedicated, motivated volunteers are the key to any successful organization. PRISM International is blessed to have many volunteers who serve the organization in various capacities, building a stronger organization that is focused members’ needs.
