The Washington-based Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) says its annual Commodity Roundtables Forum will be an in-person event in 2021 and will take place Sept. 22-24 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago.
The annual event brings together processors, brokers, traders and others involved in the ferrous and nonferrous metals recycling industry. In addition to programming on ferrous and nonferrous commodities (including aluminum, copper and stainless steel), this year’s event will include a session on financial risks and asset management, ISRI says.
“Each year ISRI’s Commodity Roundtables Forum provides recyclers with expert analysis and views into some of the most pressing issues facing recyclers today,” says ISRI Chief Economist and Director of Commodities Joe Pickard. “We are elated to be able to hold this premier industry event in person once again, providing attendees not only with the commodity market insight they need but ample time for networking with recyclers and industry stakeholders from across the globe.”
Metals prices have hit record highs in 2021 as global economies rebound at the same time COVID-19-induced supply constraints remain a factor. ISRI says, “Recognizing that these same factors require recyclers to be disciplined in managing their cash flow, mitigating commodity price volatility, securing freight, and raising capital, the 2021 Commodity Roundtables Forum will equip attendees with necessary keys for success.”
