The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI), Washington, D.C., has announced that Mark Neuville has joined the group as director of media relations and online communications.
Neuville succeeds David Krohne, who will be retiring at the end of 2010 after serving as director of communications for the past 20 years.
In his position Neuville will focus on outreach to traditional media and new initiatives focusing on social media to assist ISRI’s strategic communication goals of ensuring a greater understanding and appreciation of the economic and environmental benefits of scrap recycling, according to a press release issued by ISRI.
Neuville comes to ISRI after serving as manager of advocacy communications for the American Public Transportation Association in Washington, D.C., where he oversaw research, communications and policy activities on behalf of the national trade association. He previously has worked in a political advocacy capacity for the American Bus Association, World Wrestling Entertainment Inc., the Minnesota Office of the Secretary of State and former U.S. Senator Rod Grams.
“Mark’s extensive background in all aspects of media relations and advocacy communications will bring value to ISRI’s continuing focus on member communications and our outreach to important external audiences,” says Bruce Savage, vice president of communications. “It is a pleasure to have Mark as part of the ISRI team.”
