MAGNETIC SEPARATION SYSTEMS
Magnetic Separation Systems, Nashville, Tenn., has sold an automated plastic sorting system to Rock-Tenn Co., Norcross, Ga. The Rock-Tenn Bottle-Sort system will sort post-consumer PVC, PET and HDPE plastic resins with a 5,000-pound-per-hour capacity. The system will be installed in Indianapolis, Ind., and will be operational by late 1995.
In addition, Ensley Corp., North Canton, Ohio, has selected the MSS ELKE system to remove ceramic and stone contaminants from glass cullet. Also, Muskoka Containerized Services, Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada, has purchased a MSS MRF ELPAC automated can separation system from AMBACO Canada. The unit will allow the company to automatically eject up to 86,000 aluminum cans per hour from the company’s feedstream.
WENDT CORP.
Wendt Corp., Tonawanda, N.Y., has installed two EddySort systems. Complete with a Tumble-Back fluff infeed conveyor, square trommel and Super Eddy eddy current separator, Wendt installed a Model 148-O/SE at United Iron and Metal Co., Baltimore, and a Model 148-SE at The David J. Joseph Co., Henderson, Ky. Wendt also installed an EddySort system at the Luntz Corp., Canton, Ohio.
VAN DYK BALER
New sales abound at Van Dyk Baler Corp., the United States and Canadian distributor for Bollegraaf recycling machinery. Guelph, Ontario, has installed two HBC 80 balers. Kings County Waste Management Authority, Hanford, Calif., is planning to build its own material recovery facility entirely supplied with Bollegraaf equipment, including an HBC-80 baler with multiple sorting lines for paper, commingled materials, garbage and wood.
CRInc, Johnston, R.I., will replace its Bollegraaf HBC-50 baler with the 110 model, as well as add a double-line paper sorting system with fully-automated storage conveyors.
In Castroville, Calif., Carmel Marina Corp. bought an HBC-80 baler and two sorting systems for paper and commingled recyclables.
Marcus Paper, New Haven, Conn., has purchased a Bollegraaf HBC-80 with feeding conveyor.
Other recent Bollegraaf recycling equipment purchases have been made by Smurfit Recycling, Seattle; Smurfit Recycling, Oakland, Calif; and Prins Recycling, Newark, N.J.
