Harris Waste Management Group
Harris Waste Management Group Inc., Peachtree City, Ga., a division of FKI plc, has received orders for two additional balers in the former Soviet Union. Under the agreement, Harris will install a TCS-416-L baler to aid in the destruction of military aircraft and missile components. The second baler, a TCS-416-AP truck-mounted portable baler, will be used to process obsolete silo missile components.
Newell Industries
Newell Industries Inc., San Antonio, Texas, has made several recent equipment installations. The company sold a Newell 120104 Megashredder to Ferrous Processing and Trading, Detroit, for installation in a new FPT facility being developed in East Detroit. This is the sixth shredding plant FTP has purchased from Newell Industries.
In addition, Newell Industries sold and successfully installed one of its newest shredders, the Super Heavy Duty Model 6080 SHD, to Giuliani Brothers, Riazzino-Locarno, Switzerland.
"The Giulianis have cultivated relationships in that area and have secured authorization from the Locarno County Authority for their facility to process scrap from the entire Swiss population," says Alton Scott Newell III, executive vice president of Newell. "They also send material to areas in northern Italy and are estimating they will be processing about 25,000 tons of scrap through their facility per year – great numbers for a fairly low-population region."
Lindemann
Lindemann Recycling Equipment Inc., Charlotte, N.C., has received a number of equipment orders and made numerous recent equipment installations. In Fort Wayne, Ind., a RAM II 827-100S3 baler has begun operation at the facilities of Admetco Inc. The company uses the baler to process copper, aluminum and other nonferrous metals. Also, a RAM II 1127-100S3 baler recently began operation at Smith Metal & Iron, Rock Hill, S.C. The unit is used to bale a variety of nonferrous metals.
In Florida, the West Palm Beach Solid Waste Authority is using its new Lindemann RAM II 622-100S2 baler to process old corrugated cardboard, mixed paper and old newspapers at its new facility. The baler is Lindemann’s first RAM II 60-Series baler to begin operation in the U.S. market. In addition, Lindemann sold a U.S.-made LU-800-10 PA 75 hydraulic scrap shear to Lee Iron & Metal Co., Sandford, N.C. The shear will process miscellaneous No.1 and No. 2 steel scrap from industrial accounts.
