FUCHS SCRAP HANDLERS
A FUCHS 136,000 pound rubber-tired scrap loader has been purchased by the Philip Metals Inc. - McKinley Plant of St. Louis. The FUCHS MHL 380 model loader has a reach of 65.6 feet and can lift 11,200 pounds at that radius. FUCHS dealer Machinery Inc. of St. Louis assisted with the demonstration and sale of the loader.
HARRIS WASTE MANAGEMENT GROUP INC.
A new TGS 324A baler from Harris Waste Management Group Inc., Peachtree City, Ga., has been installed at a North Carolina scrap recycler. The new three-compression baling system was installed at Rocky Mount Recyclers in Rocky Mount, N.C. The TGS 324A can produce from 55 to 180 bales per hour, and can accept sheet steel, clips, copper, brass, aluminum and aluminum alloys, as well as springy wire and tubing. Rocky Mount Recyclers processes a variety of ferrous and nonferrous materials.
BLOWER APPLICATION COMPANY INC.
The 2,000th shredder produced by Blower Application Co. Inc. (BloApCo), Germantown, Wisc., was recently installed at the plant of an Ohio manufacturer. The floor-mounted pneumatically vented shredder is designed to process corrugated sheet waste. The company’s shredders use a patented “Pierce-and-Tear” technology to pull material in and reduce it. The company says its equipment can offer slashed energy costs as well as a quiet operating level of 80 decibels or less.
INTERNATIONAL PRESS & SHEAR CORP.
The city of Jesup, Ga. Has purchased an International Press & Shear Corp. (IPS) hinged-side baler for the Jesup Recycling Center. The hinged-side baler from IPS, Baxley, Ga., is a horizontal, hydraulic, closed-door baler with a large charge box opening.
NEWELL INDUSTRIES INC.
Chicago-based Metal Management Inc. has ordered a Newell Industries Inc. Megashredder for its Salt River Recycling Co. plant in Phoenix, Ariz. According to Scott Newell, president of Newell Industries, San Antonio, the Megashredder will be powered by a 6,000 hp electric motor for the main drive unit and a 1,500 hp motor to power the separation systems. The large shredder can process up to 300 tons per hour. Installation is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 1998.
