Green Metals, established in 2000, is merging its operations with ARK Inc., which was established in 1993, to create a comprehensive recycling and waste management firm. The combined firm will be called Green Metals and will be headquartered in Georgetown, Ky.
ARK provides on-site waste management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams. Non-hazardous commodities consist of cardboard, office paper, plastics, glass, rags, wood pallets and sludge. The company provides conveyance, processing, and marketing of the commodities. Additional support functions ARK provides includes transportation coordination, ISO 14001 consultation, safety audits and forklift maintenance programs.
Green Metals provides scrap metal recycling services using totally enclosed recycling facilities. The company has U.S. facilities located in Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia, Alabama, Tennessee and Texas. The company operates a total of 19 facilities globally.
Green Metals Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Toyota Tsusho America, a Toyota group company.
Steve Cecil has been named president of the merged company.
