Gershow Recycling Corp., a Long Island, NY-based scrap metal recycling firm, recently was awarded the bid to shred and scrap 131 public buses from the City of New York.
Before being scrapped at the company’s auto shredder, the vehicles will be drained of fuel and other liquids. From there the buses will be sheared and then shredded at Gershow’s auto shredder.
The company operates six scrap yards in the Long Island area.
