U.S. Shredder Delivers Downstream System
The U.S. Shredder and Castings Group, Trussville, Ala., has delivered a shredder downstream package and heavy-duty shredder infeed conveyor to Mid-State Recycling in Glasgow, Ky.
Designed to process material from a previously purchased shredder, the system was built for optimal cleanliness while leaving opportunities for upgrades in the future, Mid-State Recycling says.
According to U.S. Shredder President Bill Tigner, "We designed this system to meet the customer’s current needs while incorporating features that will allow cost-effective upgrades in the future."
The U.S. Shredder and Castings Group offers scrap downstream systems, nonferrous recovery, air systems, scrap shears, balers and loggers as well shredder castings, service and consulting to the North and Central America scrap industry.
Northshore Manufacturing Debuts New Grapple
Northshore Manufacturing, Two Harbors, Minn., has added a four-tine, 2-cubic-yard grapple to its Builtrite orange-peel grapple offering.
With the addition of the 2-yard grapple, seven model sizes are available for small to large material handlers. The grapple’s key features include:

Metso Expands Rotor Production
Metso Recycling North America has expanded the production of rotors at its new Medina, Ohio-facility. The facility specializes in rebuilding rotors produced by various manufacturers.
In the company’s process, the old rotor is completely disassembled. The shaft goes through an extensive evaluation process to ensure that it meets Metso’s high quality standards and performs to the customer’s expectations. Once the rotor has been evaluated, it is rebuilt to the customer’s exact specifications.
The new facility has the capacity to produce three to four rotors per month.
Hiab Introduces the Moffett Truck-Mounted Forklift
Perrysburg, Ohio-based Hiab, a division of Cargotec USA, has introduced the Moffett, a truck-mounted forklift designed to collect scrap paper bales from customer locations.
The Moffett can be carried on the back of a truck or tractor-trailer and unloaded from its transport position in less than a minute. It is designed to travel over all types of terrain, according to Hiab. It is also designed to be highly maneuverable, allowing it to navigate narrow paths and congested loading zones.
Weighing in at around 5,200 pounds, the Moffett’s lightweight design allows users to pick up more bales in less time with increased payload capacity, according to Hiab.
The Moffett comes standard with a high-powered street lighting kit for enhanced safety and visibility when operating in busy freight loading zones or at night. In addition to standard forks, the Moffett can be fitted with optional load handling attachments, including a Bolzoni scrap paper bale clamp or rotating fork clamp.
The company recommends two models for the collection of scrap paper bales, the Moffett M50 Lite and M50 Standard.

Steco Introduces New Dump Trailer
Steco, Enid, Okla., has introduced the Hauf, a full-framed steel dump trailer.
The trailer features formed side posts that extend downward from one side of the trailer across the bottom of the bed and up the opposite side, providing a complete U-frame and curved corners.
Using purchased forms and equipment from the previous builder of this design, the Hauf features the same continuous weld of the U-formed side posts, a smooth bed with easy-to-clean corners and a top-hinged tailgate with remote air-controlled open and lock, the company says.
Other models of the Hauf, including an aluminum design, will follow, according to Steco.

Henry A. Wiltschek Offers Sorter for Electronics Recycling Applications
Stoney Creek, Ontario-based Henry A. Wiltschek Inc., the manufacturer of "Can-Sort" Air-Less Metal Sorting Technology, has developed a sorting finger system for electronics recyclers that is designed to separate plastics and stainless steel from nonferrous metals.

Rotex Offers New Screening Solutions
Rotex Global LLC, Cincinnati, a leader in screening technologies, has introduced solutions for recycling applications.
The screeners separate material by particle size that can then be recycled in many industries, including ground rubber from recycled tires and wood by-products from sawmill waste.
Rotex offers models comprised of one to five decks, which have a potential surface area of up to 160 square feet. Construction options range from aluminum and stainless steel components to economical wood assemblies.

The iForks weighing system can be installed onto any forklift truck in a matter of minutes, according to the company.
The weighing system is powered by exchangeable battery modules. The iForks weight indicator in the cabin shows the weight of the load on the forks and offers a complete range of weighing functions. Meese Orbitron Dunne Cuts Delivery Costs with Multiple Tool Program
Recycling cart manufacturer Meese Orbitron Dunne Co., Ashtabula, Ohio, has introduced a triplicate tooling program for its West Coast, Midwest and East Coast facilities.
Permitting manufacturing to be performed as close to the customer’s facility as possible, the triplicate tooling ensures the utility trucks are produced quickly and delivered at the lowest possible freight cost, the company says.
This Meese Orbitron Dunne program covers the 50P-16 collection cart and several optional accessories as well as the 50P-16S Scrapasaurus, a variation of the container fitted with fork tubes for secure lifting, rotating and dumping by forklift.

MetalTech Systems to Open New Manufacturing Facility
MetalTech Systems has announced plans to open a manufacturing facility in Georgetown County, S.C.
The Pawley’s Island, S.C., company will invest nearly $4 million to open the 48,000-square-foot facility in Andrews, S.C., and expects to create 60 new jobs.
The company will manufacture conveyor systems for the recycling industry, which will be sold to private waste management companies and municipalities.
"We are pleased to expand our operations in South Carolina with this new manufacturing facility," says Paul Hanna, president of MetalTech Systems. "Georgetown County provides us with a positive business environment and a strong workforce. We appreciate all the support we’ve received from state and local officials."
