Vecoplan LLC, a leader in size reduction technology, has announced the expansion of its shred truck manufacturing facility in Archdale, N.C. The expansion will add approximately 15,000 square feet of space to the existing facility.
"The sales of our VST-32 shred truck had simply outpaced our ability to meet the demand in a timely manner," Len Beusse, COO of Vecoplan LLC, says. "This, combined with new technologies that we will soon be introducing to our mobile document destruction systems line, made the decision to expand the manufacturing facilities a simple and necessary one."
Vecoplan has also added new employees to its mobile manufacturing workforce and plans to increase staffing further in 2008.
The company is a leading manufacturer of industrial grinding, shredding and size reduction equipment for several industries, including secure destruction, woodworking, plastics processing and recycling, printing and converting, and general waste processing and recovery.
More information about the expansion and the Vecoplan product line is available online at the company’s Web site www.VecoplanLLC.com.
>> R&R Salvage Purchases Terex RHL350R&R Salvage, a 35-year-old ferrous and nonferrous recycling company, has purchased a new Terex RHL 330 material handler for the company’s Conroe, Texas, yard.
The 88,000-pound tracked material handler has a reach of 49 feet and is capable of lifting 29,000 pounds of material.
R&R Salvage co-owner Howard Perkins says, "We are now able to move three times the amount of scrap than we had been able to move with the older machine."
Perkins says the staff of R&R Salvage also appreciates the RHL 330’s climate-controlled cab, which provides relief in the heat of the Texas summer.
Mitchell Crane Inc., with locations in Houston and Bryan, Texas, sold the material handler to the company.
>> Genesis Adds to Logix Processor LineGenesis Attachments, Superior, Wis., has extended its Logix Processor Line with the introduction of two additional models of the multi-jaw attachment.
Genesis’ new LXP 200 and LXP 400 Logix Processors are designed to bring third-member versatility to excavators in the 50,000- to 100,000-pound range, respectively, according to Steve Letko, the company’s R&D manager.
"The decision to add new models was driven by a couple of factors," Letko says. "First, was the success of the first two Logix Processors, the LXP 300 and the LXP 500, which prompted a demand for additional size attachments.
"Second, was the ongoing push within the demolition industry for use of ultra-high-reach machines," he adds. "Demolition contractors knew about the inherent power characteristics and multi-jaw functions of the Logix Processor and wanted to team up that power and versatility in a high-reach machine," Letko says.
The Logix Processor expands user versatility by allowing quick and safe changeovers between shear, pulverizer and concrete cracker jaw sets and does so while also affording a dramatic boost in power over other multi-jaw attachments, according to Genesis.
The shear jaws feature the same piercing tip and blades as Genesis’ popular GXP mobile shear, making it ideal for heavy structural steel, including I-beams. Bolt-on wear parts—tooth beds for the pulverizer jaw and teeth for the cracker jaw—are also designed into the new models.
"Our ultimate goal in everything we design is productivity and reduced downtime; this approach to wear parts gives our customers both," Letko says.
