KARL SCHMIDT ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIPS
Karl W. Schmidt & Associates Inc. (KWS), Commerce City, Colo., has announced its new sales and service partnership with Redwave, a division of Austria-based BT-Wolfgang Binder GmbH, and Redox Technologies of The Netherlands.
Redwave is a leader in optical material sorting technology, specializing in the optical separation of glass, paper/fiber and plastics.
Redox Technologies has developed sorting system technology for material recovery facilities and has capabilities in construction and demolition debris, among other areas.
According to a press release from KWS, the partnership with Redwave will allow the company "to provide complete sorting systems with the very latest in optical sorting technologies with the assurance that through partnership we can provide the very best options for equipment to our customers."
KWS says that by partnering with Redox, "we will be able to deliver complete sorting lines" that "will produce clean and marketable fractions of wood, metals, plastics, refuse derived fuels, soil and recycled aggregates."
US SHREDDER AND CASTINGS ASSISTs in RIFKIN UPGRADE
Rifkin Scrap Iron and Metal Co. of Saginaw, Mich., has selected US Shredder and Castings Group, Brookhaven, Miss., to supply the conveyors for its new nonferrous cleaning system.
The system, which is designed to greatly increase the capacity of the shredder’s nonferrous product, will include new screens and eddy currents and a stainless steel separator supplied by Huron Valley Magnetics Division, Trenton, Mich.
According to David Rifkin, vice president of Rifkin Scrap Iron and Metal, "We chose US Shredder and Castings not only for the quality of equipment they supply, but their service and attention to detail."
METAL MANAGEMENT INSTALLS WENDT HEAVY SHREDDER
Wendt Corp., Tonawanda, N.Y., has announced that Metal Mangement Inc., headquartered in Chicago, has selected a Wendt Heavy shredder for its Newark, N.J., yard.
The installation will feature a Wendt 130 Heavy shredder with disc rotor and a custom infeed conveyor featuring a three-chain design, overhead bridge crane, control house, mill water-injection system and Auto Driver Control package. The shredder will be powered by a 9000-hp AC motor.
