AXO Introduces New Mobile Shredders
AXO Shredders Corp. used the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) Conference May 14-16 to introduce two new mobile destruction vehicles as well as its shred truck equipped with a shredder with selectable shred size.
AXO, based in Kitchener, Ontario, has addressed the small market/entry market segment of the secure destruction industry by offering its new cab-over AXO 408 "Peashooter" mobile shredding truck. The company says the vehicle is "designed to allow inner-city operators or start-up companies to enter the market with a modern, full-featured truck." The Peashooter is capable of shredding 2,500 pounds of paper per hour. It has a total vehicle weight of 19,500, according to AXO. The truck can haul more than 6,000 pounds of shredded paper, and operators do not require a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to operate the AXO 408.
For operators seeking flexibility, AXO has created what it calls "the first hybrid" truck, which can run on factory electrical power or generate its own power using its PTO-driven generator. The AXO Generator Hybrid stands on a 26,000-pound chassis and can shred more than 2,500 pounds per hour, according to AXO. The Generator Hybrid is also equipped with a live conveyor floor to facilitate dumping, and no CDL is required to operate the truck.
The AXO "Select" allows the operator to change the shredder’s output size at the push of a button. This "shredding plant on wheels" offers high-volume throughput of 5,000 or more pounds per hour with a payload of 10,000 pounds, according to AXO. It also includes integrated vision systems and universal lift capacity.
All AXO trucks feature solid cutters, conveyor off-load systems, stainless-steel trim and hardware, OSHA-compliant safety features and fuel-saver controls.
Additional information on AXO shredders is available on the company’s Web site at www.axo-shredders.com.
