METAL MANAGEMENT CHOOSES WENDT FOR MEMPHIS SHREDDER
Wendt Corp., Tonawanda, N.Y., has announced that Metal Management’s Memphis facility has chosen the company to custom design and build a shredder to replace a 10-year-old Newell 98x104 shredder.
Wendt custom manufactured the "drop-in" replacement 98x104 shredder that will provide several features found in the recently introduced Heavy line of auto shredders, including a drop-in front wall, deflector top and grates that are fully supported to the base plate.
The new unit allows Metal Management to reuse the disc rotor and many existing castings and liner plates from its previous shredder. According to Wendt’s Mark Ridall, Wendt was the only manufacturer that offered to re-use as much of the previous shredder as possible in the manufacturing of the new shredder, providing Metal Management with significant savings.
Wendt Corp. provides a wide range of customized processing equipment. More information is available online at www.wendtcorp.com.
