LUKAS INTRODUCTING INDUSTRIAL CUTTER FOR RECYCLING INDUSTRY
Hale Products, manufacturer of the Hurst Jaws of Life and Centaur rescue tools, have expanded into the scrap metal recycling industry with a new line of high-powered industrial cutters.
First responders prefer tools that offer high power though relatively lightweight, according to the company. These same attributes are appealing to scrap recyclers. However, rescue tools are designed for intermittent use and cannot withstand daily use in the demanding metals recycling industry, prompting the company to reengineer the tools.
The tool line is sold under the Lukas Industrial brand name. The tools can be used to remove catalysts; to cut ¾-inch bar stock, cable, 2-½-inch-diameter pipe and Schedule 40; and to dismantle appliances and cars.
Lukas offers advice on selecting the proper tool as well as a free test cutting of a material sample.
Dealers include Gensco, with offices in Toronto and Atlanta; Alan Ross Machinery of Northbrook, Ill.; and Enterprise Co. of Santa Ana, Ca.
Lukas Industrial is a unit of IDEX Corp., a manufacturer of fluid handling and industrial products.
