Horwedel Joins Lippmann-Milwaukee Staff Larry Horwedel has been named Southwest Regional Manager for Lippmann-Milwaukee, Inc., a Cudahy, Wisc.-based manufacturer of crushing and screening equipment. Horwedel was formerly vice president of sales and marketing with (and a part owner of) Excel Machinery Ltd., Amarillo, Texas. He has more than 25 years of experience in the sales and marketing of aggregate and concrete crushing machinery to material producers and contractors. At Excel, Horwedel helped design portable impact crushing plants and set up many stationery and portable custom recycling installations for C&D recycling systems, as well as for broader waste management, tire shredding and other reclamation operations. His career has taken him to installation sites at places ranging from West Africa to Korea. For Lippmann, he will have territorial sales responsibilities and will help the company develop a distributor and OEM network in the Southwest region. Horwedel will also help represent Lippmann at trade shows on a national basis. Horwedel, who claims a self-conferred PhD in “crushology,” will be based out of Amarillo, Texas. Nortrax-South Acquires Two Dealers Nortrax Equipment Co., Baton Rouge, La., has acquired Furrow-Justice Machinery Corp. and East Texas Machinery. Furrow-Justice Machinery Corp. is a John Deere construction and forestry dealership with six branches throughout Tennessee and East Texas Machinery has two locations in Texas. Nortrax-South is subsidiary of Nortrax II and is a joint venture between John Deere Construction Equipment Co. (JDCEC) and CSFB Private Equity. Nortrax II consolidates, develops and manages Deere construction equipment dealerships. “This is another step in our evolving growth,” says Nortrax-South president Chuck Paugh. BTI ADDS DEALER IN NORTHEAST Harter Equipment Inc., Englishtown, N.J., has been added as a dealer for Breaker Technology Inc. (BTI), Solon, Ohio. Harter Equipment has been in business since 1967 representing heavy equipment made by manufacturers such as John Deere, Kobelco and Kubota. BTI, formerly known as Teledyne Specialty Equipment CM Products, designs, makes and markets hydraulic rock and concrete breakers. ATI ADDS AUSTRALIAN LINE Attachment Technologies Inc. (ATI), Delhi, Iowa, has announced an agreement with Digga of New South Wales, Australia, to manufacture and distribute its products in North America. The Digga product line includes: • Auger Drives • Boring Head Technology • Trenchers The Digga products will be sold initially through the Bradco and McMillen divisions. The Bradco division manufactures backhoes, trenchers, grapple buckets, pallet forks, chain and planetary-driven augers and rock buckets, among other products. The McMillen division manufactures hydraulic earth auger and trencher attachments for skid steer loaders, wheel loaders, backhoe loaders, excavators, tractors, forklifts, mini-excavators, boom cranes and telescopic handlers. Crane & Machinery, Sennebogen Enter Agreement Crane & Machinery Inc. (CM), Bridgeview, Illinois, has established a dealer agreement with Sennebogen. German equipment maker Sennebogen has been in the European market for 45 years and is now entering the North American market. Michael Pregont, president of CM, says, “The addition of Sennebogen’s Green Line of machines will broaden Crane & Machinery’s capability to meet our customers’ material handling needs.” Features of two of Sennebogen’s machines, the 870M and 835M, include ample space and a comfortable operating environment with optimum all around visibility, the company says. JAPANESE SHOW SEEKS AMERICAN EXHIBITORS Organizers of an upcoming trade show in Japan are seeking recycling equipment manufacturing companies based in the U.S. to exhibit at the event. Environment Japan 2001, is being organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). The event takes place Nov. 27-30 at the Nippon Convention Center near Tokyo. JETRO’s Chicago office is recruiting companies based in the Midwestern U.S. to take part in the show, which is making room for 150 exhibitors and will be attended by importers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and executives and managers from the recycling and other environmental industries. The Environment Japan 2001 show will be held concurrently with WASTEC 2001, one of Japan’s largest trade shows for the waste management and recycling industries. According to JETRO, a similar combination of events in 1999 hosted 150 exhibitors and attracted more than 35,000 attendees.
