More Al-Jon Balers on the Job

Lake June Scrap Metals, Balch Springs, Texas, has purchased an Al-jon 401 Baler.

The insulated cab features climate control heat and air conditioning as well as adjustable seats and two low-effort joysticks instead of levers, control the crane and baler.

Brandy Brow Auto Parts of Plaistow, N.H., has purchased Al-jon Impact V Car Crushers.

“Before we purchased the Al-jon Impact V, we were only hauling 14 cars a load,” says buyer Frank Leandro. “With the new Al-jon machine we are hauling 24 cars a load because of Al-jon’s nice tight bundles.”

Leandro says he also likes the machine because it is designed to catch the fluids that are released from the crushed cars. Holes in the rear of the bottom deck attach to 55-gallon drums to capture the liquids.

Noranda Adds American Pulverizer Shredder

American Pulverizer Co., St. Louis, has commissioned a heavy-duty, slow-speed, high-torque shredder with a single 75-horsepower electric motor for processing aluminum dross and slag at a Noranda Aluminum facility in New Madrid, Mo. The shredder was furnished with infeed and takeaway conveyors and can be fed dross and slag pieces up to 40 inches in diameter.

Karl Schmidt Conveyors Part of McAllen MRF

Two pit infeed conveyors built and installed by Karl W. Schmidt & Associates Inc., Commerce City, Colo., are part of a new material recycling facility (MRF) in McAllen, Texas.

The facility has a fiber sort line and a commingled container line (each with drop-through chutes) using the Karl Schmidt conveyors to bring material to picking stations, a compactor, a baler and a fluffer.

Machinex Technologies Adds Windy City Office

Machinex Technologies, Plessisville, Quebec, Canada, has opened a U.S. operations center in Chicago to put more of an emphasis on the commitment the company has to its American customers, according to a company news release.

The company builds custom MRFs and processing systems for the recycling industry.
