The Brussels-based Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) has selected Barcelona and Dubai as the host cities for its May and October 2022 conventions, respectively.
According to updates posted to its website, BIR will host its Spring World Recycling Convention in Barcelona May 22-25 and will meet again Oct. 16-18 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In both cases, a hotel property has not yet been announced.
BIR promotes its events as bringing together circular commodities traders and processors from more than 70 nations and in several materials categories, including metal, paper and board, plastic, electronic scrap, tires and textiles.
The 73-year-old organization says its events create “excellent networking opportunities [and] provide analytical commodity information and market forecasts.”
In 2020 and 2021, several of the BIR’s events had to be converted to online programs, although it was able to hold an in-person event with capped attendance in October in Brussels.
