B2B Site Adds Web Services

e-Fiber, LLC, owners and operators of TheFiberExchange.com announced the formation of two new complementary web sites, TheFiberAuction.com and FiberLogistics.com. The company plans to expand its B2B e-commerce offerings to the pulp and paper industry. "With the addition of the new products, TheFiberAuction.com and FiberLogistics.com, we can now offer a menu of electronic commerce choices and a variety of services for our members," says Doug Mowery, e-Fiber president. "Buyers and sellers can now choose an e-commerce solution that best suits their internal requirements." Both sites are slated to be operational in 60 days.

TheFiberAuction.com features forward and reverse auctions as well as a private negotiation system where buyers and sellers can negotiate for products with a pre-defined group of companies.

"In response to numerous requests from our members, we are introducing this service. Buyers and sellers alike have the opportunity to see and approve beforehand the companies they will be dealing with upon the consummation of a transaction," says Mowery.

The auction and private negotiation system operates on a fully disclosed basis where the buyers and sellers are pre-qualified by the auctioning member.

FiberLogistics.com is a shipping information and logistics system designed to cater to the specific shipping requirements of the pulp and paper industry. "We believe that e-Fiber has created a truly unique and valuable Internet based service for purchasing and traffic professionals in the paper industry," Mowery says.

"Our pilot program has indicated that FiberLogistics.com can provide an immediate and tangible benefit for both suppliers and customers. This system requires minimal training and is easy to use. Companies can use this service on a stand alone basis within one week of signing on and, if desired, it can be integrated with their in-house systems." e-Fiber charges a small fee per load to use FiberLogistics.com.
