Abitibi-Consolidated's Snowflake, Ariz., paper mill received the 1999 Pollution Prevention award from the state of Arizona. The company was cited for producing a raw material that is 100 percent recycled paper, which has reduced the toxic release inventory by more than 2 million pounds.
The mill produces recycled corrugated medium and newsprint at the location.
