Eriez Wins Award for P-Rex Magnet
The Permanent Rare Earth Extreme Drum Magnet, or P-Rex, from Erie, Pa.-based Eriez has won the 2010 Plant Engineering magazine’s Product of the Year Silver Award in the material handling systems category.
“At Eriez, new product development is driven by understanding market requirements and customers’ needs. We saw a clear demand for better ferrous separation in the recycling industry, and P-Rex offers a solution,” remarked Tim Shuttleworth, Eriez’ president and CEO, upon receipt of the award.

Heil Introduces Durapack 4060 Split-Body Rear Loader
Heil Environmental, Chattanooga, Tenn., has launched its new DuraPack 4060 split-body rear loader, an enhancement to its offering of multi-compartment refuse and recycling collection vehicles.
The DuraPack 4060 has been designed for customers that are manually collecting multiple commodities on a single route. The DuraPack 4060 split-body is available in a 20- and 25-cubic-yard body size. It has a compaction rate of up to 750 pounds per cubic yard, with a 9-to-10-second reload time and an overall packing cycle time of 15 to 17 seconds. Also, the DuraPack 4060 comes standard with fully sealed electrical controls for operating both tailgates from either side and is available with a range of options.
