Superior, Wis.-based Genesis Attachments, a supplier of mobile shears to the scrap industry, has expanded its product line with the introduction of a full line of orange-peel-type scrap grapples. The Genesis Scrap Grapple (GSG) line includes four models, ranging in capacity from 0.75 cubic yards to 1.5 cubic yards.

Northshore Manufacturing, Two Harbors, Minn., has added the Heavy-Duty, Butt-Tine Utility Grapple to its line of attachments. Northshore says the grapple is ideal for handling a wide variety of materials, including Jersey barriers, pipe, wood matting, railroad ties and rails, logs, scrapped automobiles and rock. It is suitable for use with truck-mounted material handlers and with excavators.

Sennebogen LLC, Stanley, N.C., has announced that its Green Line scrap handlers are now being offered with its own Green Line orange-peel grapples for use in recycling yards and steel mills.

7. Walker Magnetics R-Series Radiation Detection Magnets
Walker Magnetics, Worcester, Mass., had introduced its R-Series radiation detection magnets, available with the Cricket radiation detection system from RadComm Systems Corp., Oakville, Ontario.
Features include:
• Available on 12 different models ranging from 40 inches in diameter to 92 inches in diameter and weighing 1,800 pounds to 15,400 pounds with a range of lifting capacities
• The ability to identify sources other systems may miss, according to the company
• Can get close to the source and scan the material for a longer time

8. Winkle Lightweight Scrap Magnets
Winkle Industries, Alliance, Ohio, has introduced a line of lightweight scrap magnets that offer a weight savings of from 4 to 14 percent compared with other magnets, according to the company. Winkle’s OptiMag “L-Series” lifting magnets for scrap recyclers now include two model ranges: the LDSA magnets, updated from the previous LSA standard, and a new ELDSA line, created specifically for smaller hydraulic scrap handling machines.
Features include:
• L-Series models offer increased lifting capacity when used to handle lighter weight magnets
• Recommended for fixed and mixed loads in general duty scrap handling applications
• Provide a large lifting surface and reduced total weight designed to best use the crane’s load-lifting capacity
• Heavy-duty mechanical features and deep-field coils
• Standard models range from 30 inches to 72 inches in diameter
