Weyerhaeuser Co. announced plans to relocate its Pacific Rim pulp sales and customer service office from Federal Way, Wash., to its Hong Kong facility. The move should be complete by this summer.
``Asia is an increasingly important market,'' said Dick Gozon, executive vice president -- pulp, paper and packaging. ``This move will improve service to our Pacific Rim customers, and better position us to meet their expectations for quality, delivery and cost.''
Along with Hong Kong, the new office will serve China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand. Weyerhaeuser's liaison offices in Japan serve its Japanese customers.
