Weyerhaeuser Co.’s Richmond,
Va., recycling plant received the year 2000 safety award presented by the American
Forest & Paper Association.
Of more than 60 award
submissions, the Weyerhaeuser plant was the largest recycling operation that
had no accidents for the year.
Each year the AF&PA
Safety Excellence Awards recognize those facilities that have the lowest
incidence rate of injury based on the size of the operation. Of the 12 award
categories, one honors a recycling facility.
