Vista Fibers, a large recycling
operation headquartered in Dallas, is acquiring the non-ferrous and aluminum
recycling operations from Wise Recycling in the Dallas area. The company
expects to have the asset sale finalized by the first of March.
The acquisition does not include
Wise’s physical plant, but does include both contracts for the aluminum
collected as well as the equipment that was used by Wise Recycling.
According to Tom Lyons, president of
Vista Fibers, the volume Vista will be obtaining through the acquisition will
be around 600,000 pounds a month, bringing the total collected by Vista to
around 1 million pounds in the Dallas area.
Last year Wise Metals announced that
it was selling off many of its recycling facilities outside its South and
Southeast regions.
Vista Fibers has a number of
recycling operations throughout Texas, including facilities in Houston, San
Antonio and Dallas.
