Solvay Paperboard,
Syracuse, NY, has purchased a recycle system of Thermo Black Clawson equipment
for a new medium paper machine. The system includes a DR Hydrapulper pulping
system, Hydrapurge II-X detrasher, Liquid Cyclone cleaner, Ultra-Clone forward
cleaners, Ultra-V pressure screens for the coarse and fine screening loops, X-Clone(tm)
through flow cleaners and Ultra-V approach flow screens. Thermo Black Clawson
has been the primary supplier for two other recycling systems that are
currently running successfully in the mill.
The $2 million system will
process OCC, increasing the mill's production to meet their demand for medium
used in corrugated containers.
Scheduled for start up next July, the new system will bring Solvay's
capacity to 1,800 tons per day of linerboard and corrugated medium.
