Pennsylvania to Hold Live Teleconference on Recycling

Pennsylvania's Environmental Protection secretary James M. Seif announced that the department, in cooperation with the Professional Recyclers of Pennsylvania, will conduct a live teleconference, ``Best Practices: Community-Based Recycling,'' at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 12.

The teleconference will feature recycling professionals from throughout Pennsylvania who have implemented successful recycling-education programs in their communities.

The program also will be available at 17 downlink locations across the state and webcast live through Pennsylvania's website at www.state.pa.us or directly on the GreenWorks Channel website at www.GreenWorksChannel.org.

``This program is a chance for communities to learn from each other the best ways to encourage more communities to recycle more effectively,'' Seif said. ``We need to find new ways to recycle if we are to reach our new goal of recycling 35 percent of our waste by 2003.''
