Mead Corp. announced plans to close its Atlanta converting facility Nov. 30. After the facility is closed Mead will operate seven converting plants in North America and a corrugated medium mill in Stevenson, Ala.
Robert Feeser, president of the Mead Containerboard division, said, "We are closing this facility as part of our continuing program to improve the productivity of our operations and enhance profitability for the company. Our ability to meet customers' needs in other market areas will not be affected, and we expect to maintain a presence in the Atlanta marketplace through our other converting facilities."
