The GrassRoots Recycling Network is releasing an analysis in recycling over the past 20 years, environmental impacts of wasting resources and recommendations for eliminating waste through 'zero waste' policies and practices. The report was researched and written by the Institute for Local Self Reliance.
According to the report, 28 percent of the household and commercial discards in 1998 were recycled, composted or reused, nearly tripling the 1980 figures.
