Georgia-Pacific Corp. acquired a 30 percent ownership in Honeycomb Products Corp., a manufacturer of kraft paper honeycomb. The company is located in Dolton, Ill. It will retain its name.
G-P currently supplies kraft linerboard to Honeycomb. The minority ownership will allow G-P to maximize the growth potential in this segment. Steve Macadam, G-P's executive vice president -- containerboard and packaging, said, "We will do that through the existing direct sales and marketing expertise within Honeycomb and Georgia-Pacific, and will also draw upon the talents of our affiliate operations, CeCorr and Unisource."
