The European
Commission Merger Task Force has given approval to the formation of the new
company Billerud, which will be 50/50 owned by Stora Enso and AssiDoman.
The new company
will be formed from the paper mills Gruvon (Stora Enso) and Karlsborg and
Skarblacka (AssiDoman). The deal should be completed in February 2001, with
formal merger and formation on Jan. 1, 2001.
