Earlier this week Boise Cascade Corp. announced plans to retain its pulp and paper mill in DeRidder, La., and seven corrugated container factories.
Late last year the company said it was considering selling the facilities as part of a plan to raise shareholder value.
"After considering numerous proposals reflecting several different strategic alternatives, we have concluded that none created more value for our shareholders than retaining the earnings and cash flow that these units produce," said George Harad, chairman and CEO.
