Borneo Pulp & Paper Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysian based pulp and paper company plans to raise $1 billion to build a mill in the eastern Malaysia.
According to press reports, construction of the mill could start next year and take two years to complete.
Borneo Pulp was incorporated as a joint venture between Asia Pulp & Paper Co. and state-owned Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corp.
Nilo said the planned mill would be capable of producing 750,000 metric tons of pulp and paper a year.
