The American Forest and Paper Association
announced a number of additional seminars being scheduled during the three-day
meeting, March 11-13 in New York City.
The AFPA will be holding two seminars on
March 11. The first seminar will address AFPA’s Sustainable Forestry Initiative
program and why it is important to the paper industry. The second seminar
scheduled will focus on effectively using the Internet for the paper business.
The two seminars will be held concurrently,
and will be presented twice on March 11.
On the last day of Paper Week, March 13, the
AFPA will have a session titled Global Trends in Packaging. Two featured
speakers at the Packaging General Session will include Dermont Smurfit,
marketing & sales vice president of Jefferson Smurfit Group, and Scott
Melkerson, business development & marketing vice president of PACCESS.
The last day of the program also will
feature the Pulp & Paper General Session. Titled The Changing Industry
in Changing Times, the session will focus on pulp and paper market trends
in major regions of the world, including the United States.
