Abitibi-Consolidated is permanently closing its specialty
paper machine No. 1 at its Iroquois Falls, Ontario mill. The close will reduce production
capacity by around 53,000 metric tons of non-core specialty grades.
The permanent closure of machine will take place on Sept.
14th. After closing, the facility will be a one-machine newsprint
