Phoenix-basedRepublic Services Inc. has announced the appointment of two new members to its board of directors. The election of Thomas W. Handley and Jennifer M. Kirk has expanded Republic’s board to 12 members in total, including 11 independent directors.
“We are pleased to welcome Tom and Jennifer to our board,” says President and CEO Donald W. Slager. “Their combined expertise in strategic planning, finance and operations, as well as petroleum and service industry experience, will serve Republic well as we continue to execute our strategy of profitable growth through differentiation. We look forward to working with them and welcome their experience and counsel.”
Industrial services and chemical executive Handley serves as president and CEO for Saint Paul, Minnesota-based Ecolab Inc. He also serves on Republic’s Management Development Compensation Committee and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
Jennifer M. Kirk, an oil and gas executive, is vice president, controller and principal accounting officer of Houston-based Occidental Petroleum Corp. She also serves on Republic’s services’ AUDIT COMMITTEE and Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility Committee.
